We are pleased to announce that amongst 70 new COST Actions, the Cost Action initiated by the EARLINET network (EARLICOST) has been approved.
Michaël Sicard has been involved in the drafting of the proposal.
The EARLICOST COST Action aims to improve our understanding of atmospheric composition by enhancing lidar capabilities for aerosol, temperature, and water vapor profiling.
These variables are key to assessing air quality, weather, and climate impacts. Aerosols, in particular, are major drivers of climate change and a significant source of uncertainty in climate models. EARLICOST fosters collaboration among researchers, industry, policymakers, and users to bridge knowledge gaps.
Through this multidisciplinary effort, it advances lidar technology, standardizes methodologies, and improves atmospheric monitoring for better climate predictions and environmental policies.
