This study attempts to quantify the radiative impact over Réunion Island (21° S, 55° E) in the southern tropical Indian Ocean of the aerosols and water vapor (WV) injected into the stratosphere by the eruption of the Hunga underwater volcano in the South Pacific on 15 January 2022. Ground-based lidar and satellite passive instruments are used to parameterize a state-of-the-art radiative transfer (RT) model for the first 13 months after the volcano eruption.

On Tuesday 19th of November 2024, during the Maïdo Observatory Summer School organised in the framework of REALISTIC, a joint session is held with another european project: TwInSolar. This Horizon Europe project is also coordinated by University of la Réunion…

The MOSS-24 is a summer school on Aerosols and trace gases in the troposphere and stratosphere: dynamics, long-term evolution of atmospheric composition, and climate change, with a focus on aerosol lidar technics organized by Reunion University

A new article has been published by the first PhD of our REALISTIC team, Dominique Gantois on the multiwavelength aerosol lidars at the Maïdo Observatory.
